Meltech was awarded the $8M Washington Suburban Sanitation Commission (WSSC) General Facilities Construction SATOC. Meltech is currently servicing this Indefinite Delivery, Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) SATOC to provide General Facility Construction Services at various Commission facilities such as treatment plants, valve vaults, pumping stations, buildings, and ancillary facilities located within Montgomery and Prince George’s Counties, Maryland on an as needed and time and materials or lump sum basis, for the Commission’s Project Delivery Group.

WSSC is the 18th largest utility in the United States. This Contract has a one (1) term for five (5) years with an upset limit of $8,000,000.00.  In addition, WSSC owns and operates ten (10) separate facilities distributed through the WSSC service area that are subject to the requirements of the General Permit for Stormwater Discharges Associated with Industrial Activity. The permit is administered by the Maryland Department of the Environment’s (MDE’s) Industrial and Discharge Permits. As part of the permit conditions, the Commission is currently designing Stormwater Management Facilities in order to reduce or treat 20% of the currently untreated impervious area in support of the Chesapeake Bay Total Maximum Daily Load (TMDL) water quality goal. The Commission anticipates that a major portion of the total Contract amount will be utilized for the construction/installation of these Stormwater Management Facilities. Other general construction projects included on this contract may range from $5,000.00 to $750,000.00. Currently, Meltech has four active T/O’s being successfully completed throughout the region concurrently.
